The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites applications for two (2) Risk Management Practitioner Internships within the Risk and Integrity Management Component at Head Office, Pretoria. This twelve (12) month internship, part of the Graduate Recruitment Scheme 2025/2026, offers graduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience in risk management, internal control, and business continuity practices within a large government institution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating, developing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing the Risk Management and Business Continuity Management Framework
• Facilitating strategic, operational, fraud, ethics, and ad-hoc risk assessments at SAPS Divisions/Components/Provinces
• Facilitating the development of risk response plans for identified risks
• Supporting the treatment of key and emerging risks
• Assisting with Business Continuity and disaster management initiatives within the SAPS
• Updating and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for Divisions/Components/Provinces
• Coordinating and testing all Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
• Compiling assurance maps and assessing the level of assurance provided
• Preparing and facilitating quarterly risk management reports for relevant committees
• Supporting governance structures within the Section
• Promoting a culture of risk management and business continuity awareness through training and communication programmes
• Maintaining and providing support on the SAPS Risk Management System

Qualifications

• South African citizen with a National Senior Certificate (or equivalent NCV L4)
• Must have no previous criminal convictions or pending cases
• Must be unemployed, never employed in the field of the advertised post, and never participated in an internship programme relevant to the field
• Must reside in the province where the post is advertised
• Must hold a three (3) year National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Risk Management, Internal Auditing, Cost and Management Accounting, Finance, Business Continuity Management
